Taking The First Step

Osteoporosis, or loss of bone strength, is a chronic disease with potentially devastating results. Bone fractures occur in 50% of females and 25% of males over the age of 50 in the US.  The result?  Loss of mobility, chronic pain, decreased quality of life, burdensome expense, and higher chances of early death. Additionally, osteoporosis results in catastrophic costs to society. There are extremely limited resources for patients with Osteoporosis.

Providers are faced with mountains of study data and multiple protocols. They are tasked with the designing their own testing, treatments and management structures. There isn’t consistent training or support programs, and most providers simply don’t have the time or resources to build their own programs.

We are here to make Osteoporosis care more streamlined for providers, and more accessible for patients. The American Society of Osteoporosis Providers is creating and implementing training, certification and testing to streamline provider processes on the identification, testing, treatment, and monitoring of osteoporosis patients.
